Savills Singapore is pleased to announce that it is expanding its suite of consultancy services with the formation of a new business unit – Retail Consultancy. This new team will be headed by a retail industry veteran, Ms Sulian Tan-Wijaya, who will be coming on board on 1 October as Senior Director for Retail and Lifestyle. She will be responsible for overseeing and developing Savills Singapore's retail agency and consultancy team.

Sulian will join a very successful Savills Regional Retail Team that had recently handled the leasing of the largest retail mall in Macao – The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel which comprised over 1 million sq ft of lettable space to retailers including luxury brand names from around the globe. Savills has also recently assisted the Venetian in the leasing of the Shoppes at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao which is due to open at the end of August.

Currently Savills is engaged in providing agency and consultancy services in South Korea. Savills Retail Team is working with AIG for their new development, Seoul IFC and Pacific Star for their newly refurbished centre in the prime district of Myeong-dong, Seoul.

In addition to over seeing the Retail Agency and Consultancy Team, Sulian will also be part of the Savills Singapore management team. She will be actively engaged in general business development, and also assisting in the luxury residential and Prestige Homes divisions.

"Sulian will be bringing much depth and experience to our Savills Retail Team especially in view of exciting changes ahead with the completion of the two Integrated Resorts and many new shopping and lifestyle malls. Sulian and her team will also be working very closely with Nick, who is spearheading an impetus for Savills Retail team to provide regional retailers and landlords a multiplicity of platforms to further enhance retail lifestyles with a global approach. She will also certainly add much colour and glamour to our management team in Singapore," Michael Ng, Managing Director of Savills (Singapore) Pte Ltd.

"Besides Retail, Sulian will also be focusing on lifestyle trends, in the area of F&B and entertainment where Singapore is beginning to make its mark as the region’s premier Food & Beverage and Entertainment hub. The demand for space from these 2 sectors has been on the rise since the announcement of the 2 IRs, we are seeing more allocation of space within the new and refurbished malls”, added Mr Ng.

Prior to her taking up the appointment at Savills Singapore, Sulian was the General Manager of The Fullerton Heritage where she was responsible for the marketing, branding, PR and leasing of all rental properties at The Fullerton Heritage, which includes One Fullerton, Clifford Pier, Customs House, The Fullerton Waterboat House, The Fullerton Hotel and Fullerton Bay Hotel.

Before that, she was also a director at the Singapore Tourism Board spearheading the tourism shopping and service quality divisions, as well as General Manager of Wisma Atria and Capital Square.
